Design
Designing is the initial step in the process of creating the bag. The whole process starts with an idea that is fuelled by inspiration. Each idea is first placed on paper and then adjusted according to the requirements regarding the size and shape with the attention to making the products ergonomic and useful.
1
Choosing materials and tailoring
Choosing the finest materials is of crucial importance in our production. Because of the uniqueness of our products, the leather we use for making bags needs to be thick and more consistent. The colors are chosen according to trends and seasons.
2
Gluing and sewing
The frst of the two phases in this step is gluing the inside lining and the leather as well as different parts of the bag. We use water-based glue which has no negative influence on the health nor the materials used in making bags. The second phase is sewing which, aside from the purpose of connecting parts, has the aesthetic part and is meant to make the product more attractive.
3
Edge dying and protection of the leather
To protect the leather, we use the process of impregnation or coating it with a special cream. The purpose of this step is to maintain the color as well as protect the leather from outdoor effects and make cleaning it easier.
Dying the edges has an aesthetic purpose and it is a slow and zero-tolerance to mistake process.
4
Wood cutting
Step that follows is choosing the wooden piece that is going to be used in making the bag. We use walnut in our products because of its visual attractiveness and technical features.
After the wood is chosen, it is cut and shaped according to the model of the bag being produced.
5
Fine woodworking process
After the wood gets its final shape, it goes through the sanding process with a 400 grit fine sandpaper used for smoothing the surface. After the sanding is completed, the wood is coated with special oil coatings which protect the wood from atmospheric influence as well as aging and UV radiation.
6
Assembling
Assembling is the crucial step in completing the bag and no space for making mistakes. It requires maximum attention, skills, and patience. In the assembling process, we use glues and nails which, aside from connecting the parts, have the purpose of making the bag more attractive, giving it a third dimension, in addition to wood and leather. This does not mean that the bag is finalized since the decorative hardware and locks have to be added.
7
Decorative hardware and locks installation
This is the final step in producing the bag and after it, the bag gets its final look. Before installing the locks, they undergo testing to make sure there are no malfunctions. The decorative hardware has the purpose of making the bag look classy and elegant.
